What are the essential books on memory as I have to read? I do not want books with information ………. same
I Search Amazon.com and I am deciding to buy books. There are so many books. I want to buy based on the book (s) that give me all the advice I need memory. I might buy a book or could buy more, but do not want to buy several books that have all the same information. This is a waste of money. What book or books are essential? I do not want to waste my money buy more books with the same information presented differently. And when I say "memory" I'm talking about everything related to improving memory, especially mnemonic. I thinking of buying the Harry Lorayne, O'Brien Sunday and others.
almost without exception, memory techniques are the same as the subtle differences. Lorayne tends to put greater emphasis on a "link" system memory so that O'Brien uses methods loci or travel. method O'Brien takes more preparation – use a mnemonic based on people and actions rather than objects – and focus less on the ability to remember items indexed (ie, to access a specific item in a list of objects without having to go through them sequentially.) Because they are reasonably cheap my recommendation would be to buy one book Lorayne and then if you feel that is lacking O'Brien. Another guy named Jonathan Hancock (which, as O'Brien has won world championship of memory) has also published a book. I thought it was a good half way between the two previous authors. You can find a good summary of other two authors.
